FOTD (Face of the Day) - Gold, Bronze & Purple using Drugstore Makeup

Here is a quick post on my face of the day.  I pictured it in my last blog entry on Valentine's Day Hairstyles... and I wanted to list the products here so you could replicate it if you wanted to.  :)  It is really simple to achieve and is subtle enough to be used during the day or intensified for a night look by adding a brighter/darker base.  I used all drugstore makeup with exception to my primer - which I used my Two Faced Shadow Insurance this time.  I was going to use my Loreal Decrease... but it was not readily available for me to quickly grab... so I used what was handy.  However, this look would be completely done with drugstore brands if I had my Loreal Decrease available.

Primer:  Two Faced Shadow Insurance

Base:  NYX Jumbo E/S Pencil in Yellow on the inner third of the lid and NYX Jumbo E/S Pencil in Bronze on the rest of the lid.

Eyeshadow:  Covergirl eye enhancers trio in Dazzling Metallics #119 (Bronze, Black & Yellow Gold) and NYX Single Eyeshadow in Purple

Liner:  Wet & Wild H2O Waterproof Liquid Liner in Black and Avon Glimmersticks eyeliner in Blackest Night (Waterproof)

Lashes:  Rimmel London's Lash Accelerator Mascara in Black to provide length and Covergirl lash blast Mascara in Black over the Rimmel mascara to provide volume.

Brows:  Avon's Mocha Latte Quad - I used the darkest brown from that Quad called Espresso

Lips:  Loreal Infalliable Never fail lipgloss in Coral Sands

Blush: just a light dusting of NYC Baby Pink mosaic blush to the apples of my cheeks.
No contour or highlight for this look

Foundation:  I did not use foundation for this look.

*Hope you liked it. :)

Valentine's Day Hairstyles - Quick & Glamorous Hairstyles for your Date Night and No Hot Tools Needed!

Are you a busy mommy or a hard working doll with no time to style your hair for your Date Night with your love on Valentine's Day?  If so - I think you will definitely find this blog post useful. :)

I LOVE Valentine's Day.  I absolutely cannot stress this enough.  And, when I get the opportunity to dress up and look fabulous for a night out on the town with my hunny - know that I am going to definitely take advantage of it.  When I was working full time at my corporate job - there was no time for prettying up for a night out with my boo.  If Valentine's Day was on a weekday - I would be rushing from the office to the restaurant to make our reservations and I had no choice to use the same ol' hairstyle I wore all day.  Thinking back on all of that... I was inspired to help all of you lovely dolls get gorgeous with a little bit of glam for the special evening with your loves.  Instead of spending all that time getting dolled up and doing your hair, use that time to cuddle up with your boo!

The hairstyles pictured below are easy and simple and can be done in a minute.
There is no need to use any hot tools.  My hair is naturally very curly (like pictured) so I simply styled it right out of the shower when my hair was a little damp.  The only hair products I have in my hair is John Freida Leave-In conditioner & Catwalk Curls Rock Amplifier.  The products I used are listed below and you can also watch the video tutorial for step by step instructions on how to achieve the looks pictured below.

Clip in Flower pin or Flower on a hair tie
bobby pins
twisty pins (not sure of the exact name)
tiny plastic claw clips
hair tie (rubberband)
and maybe a comb if you need it.

~ optional items for the style ~
leave-in conditioner
Catwalk Curl's Rock Amplifier
Hairspray, Mousse or Gel

Messy Bun Hairstyle

Side Ponytail Hairstyle

Hair completely down & curly... no formal styling done.
Just added leave-in conditioner & Catwalk Curls Rock Amplifier.

My New Hello Kitty Quilted Face Bag

I have been waiting to order this bag for a while now... but I had to save up the money to purchase it... and then, when I did - I had to wait for it to be back in stock... because it was back ordered.  Finally, on January 28th - I was able to buy this beauty. :)

It is a Quilted PVC tote with embroidered detailing and a 3D padded bow.  Measuring 16.5" x 14" with a button magnetic closure.  It has an interior zipper pocket with two open pockets.  I didn't have a chance to take a photo of it... but on the back is Hello Kitty in her signature script in a hot pink embroidery.

This purse has a ton of room.  Though I cannot close it right now with all of the things I have pictured here... it still fit all of my daily items, including my day planner (pictured at the top) & my big travel makeup case (pictured to the left)

The inside has a mix of hot pink, gray, striped & polka dots designs of Hello Kitty's signature bow.

I purchased this tote bag for $65.00 plus shipping.  You can get yours too... by clicking on the link below:

Happy birthday to my son Ka'eo

Seven years ago, on this very day... My husband and I was blessed with our eldest son, Kevin Ka'eo'okamalei'okahonuakamakaniamekekai Kaho'ohanohano. Thus was a very joyous occasion for my husband and I had tried for many years to get pregnant... And when we decided to stop trying... We found out we were expecting.  While I was in labor (2 weeks overdue and had to be induced.  12 hours of labor and pain killers that NEVER worked), we decided we would call him Ka'eo for short.

The last few years have been such a joy. As most parents know... Whether it is your first time or your fifth... It is always a learning experience. Each year on this day I remember leaving him with my parents when he was a month old so I could go back to work. Needless to say, it was a very traumatic experience for me and I cried continuously for the remainder of the day.  Then, having to rush him to the emergency room because he fell down in the kitchen and split his chin open...  I had to be brave mommy & not show any emotion as we waiting for hours in the ER for his chin to get 12 stitches.

Each minute, each day, each year... there are memories that are cherished... Watching Ka'eo get excited in 2009 as my tummy grew bigger & bigger with his twin brothers... and how he continued to talk to my belly every day. And how he held each one in his arms when he visited me and his brothers in the hospital.  Now, more than a year later... he is the best big brother any little brother could ask for. :)

Ka'eo - 5 years old, 2009

As I mentioned earlier...  my husband and I are definitely blessed.  Though boys will be boys and all 3 of my sons can drive me crazy once in a great while... I would never trade being their mommy for anything in the world.

So - in closing... I want to wish my darling son Ka'eo a Happy Happy Birthday.  Daddy & I wish you a lifetime of blessings and happiness and our love for you is FOREVER.  Hau'oli La Hanau e' Ka'eo.

Thoughts of you...

This blog post is dedicated to my one & only - my soul mate, my true love, my Kevin. <3 xoxo

I was sitting here... just reminiscing of my past and all the challenges that have led me on my journey.  While engulfed in my thoughts...  I remembered times when my honey & I would walk down a beach, holding hands... with only our love keeping us warm as the moon began to rise, and the sun set.  Such beautiful, peaceful times.  Now, don't get me wrong... it's not like I would ever change my life and how it is at this moment... not at all.  I would never change it for the whole world.  I just find myself day dreaming of what things were like when my husband and I first started dating... and then when we were newly married.  It's been over 13 years since our journey has began, 13 wonderful years... and my heart is so full - so content... that I couldn't picture it to be any other way than the path that has chosen us.

Have you ever stopped in the middle of doing something and for some odd reason... you had a thought overwhelm your entire body... that it consumed each bit of energy you had and you could no longer go back to what you were originally doing????   Well, this is exactly what happened to me - which is why I am blogging about it now.  I can't get it out of my head. :)

What was this thought, you ask...  that took over my body so hard that I couldn't continue what I was doing????
Are you ready for this?  Well, here it is:

"Have you ever had a moment in your life, where you are arguing with your honey or engaged in such deep conversation, filled with so much emotion - that any interruption would completely and utterly make the situation a miserable mess?  But, right in the middle of it... your love grabs and takes you into him, holding you so tight as if to comfort your heart & soul... and then kisses you.  The passion shared - it simply is unexplainable...  no conversations can be continued, no arguments, no heartache, nothing can return to what it was, once a kiss like this is made.  It's as if time stood still...  as if someone stopped the clock...  and the only ones moving are you and him.

From time to time, out of the blue... while in the middle of writing, editing, cooking, driving, awaking... thoughts like these pour onto me like a rush of emotion... and everything else around me seems to be lost in unfinished thoughts.  I love those thoughts...  they give me chills, goosebumps and sweet dreams...

I love my husband.  He is so special and dear to me.  Without him, I would not be who I am today - nor, would I be the wife & mommy that I am.  Thank you, my love... for loving and supporting me. :)

My babies...

I always love sharing photos of my little ones... and they are always willing to let me photograph them. :) I wanted to share my cuties with all of you.  The each have their own little personalities and I think it was captured in these photos perfectly. :)

I can't believe how quickly time has passed.  It seems like just yesterday, I was pregnant with them and was experiencing the worst case of nausea ever... lol, (no, really - I lost over 40 lbs with the twins' pregnancy and 32 lbs with my eldest.)

My 6 year old will be turning 7 this coming Wednesday and my twins are 16 1/2 months old - almost 17 months.  Everyone asks this question - so I figure I tell you that the twins are identical, though their personalities definitely say otherwise. :)

Meet my boys -

Goodbye Medium...

So - this is totally a random blog post... but anyway - I digress. :)

Last night I watched the series finale of Medium.  I absolutely love this show and have been watching it for years.  This along with Ghost Whisper had been my nightly Friday TV show ritual.  As if it weren't bad enough that they cancelled Ghost Whisperer, they have now brought Medium to the end.

I am totally bummed that I have to now find something else to watch on Fridays...  any suggestions anyone?
