Where does the time go? Our twins are 2 years old today...

I'm a little late in posting this - I had originally intended to do so this morning, but was caught up with so many other things - I didn't have the chance.

Today is the birthday of my twins - Luke & Isaiah.  They are 2 years old today. ;)

Happy Birthday
Luke & Isaiah

I got up this morning and was pretty emotional as I looked in on my twins while they were still sleeping.
Being a parent can be such an emotional experience all in its own - but my journey to having these lovelies was definitely a challenge.  While pregnant with them, being active was just impossible.  I spent most of my 7 and a half months of pregnancy in bed and unable to really move or even eat anything without feeling nauseated.  I lost over 45lbs through my entire pregnancy and my weight on the day I gave birth was less than what I was when I found out I was pregnant.  As if that wasn't a challenge... my blood pressure was so high the day I went in for my Pre-op for Cesarean scheduled for Sept. 10th that my doctor just couldn't allow me to keep the babies in me for the extra 2 days, it was life threatening for me and she rushed me to an emergency C-Section on the 8th of September instead.   So, I went straight from the regular doctor's office to the hospital and on to surgery to see my little munchkins.  Being told that you could possibly lose your life and also be told that you will get to see meet two little angels a day early was a very emotional experience.

Now - two years later, these little boogies keep me busy.  I still don't know what a full nights rest is and I'm consistently running after them and around them, but
I WOULD NEVER TRADE IT FOR THE WHOLE WORLD.

Here are a few pictures of our angels and the last 2 years, they are in no particular order, but I'm sure you can see the timeline by looking at how much they have grown ;)

Mommy, Daddy & Ka'eo love you guys very much... Happy Birthday to our little loves. ;)

iviscents.com has stolen my heart with its Kandee Johnson Birthday Cake Goodies...

I love love love Kandee Johnson - she is one of my favorite Beauty Bloggers, Mommy Bloggers and YouTube Gurus.  Her inspirational videos have done more than just inspire me - they have truly helped to improve my everyday life.  As if that wasn't enough... Kandee J has teamed up with Iviscents... this awesome company that was started by a mother who was facing difficult times due to our terrible economy - dang, that story sure sounds familiar. ;)  This company has been such an inspiration to many other small businesses out there that are working their way up to the top.  Thanks Aarin for being such a role model ;)

So here is my review on the Kandee Johnson Birthday Cake Collection - or shall I say... my rave. ;)  Have you tried this collection yet, if so - comment and tell me what you think ;)  Watch the video below to see what I got and the review.

Dear diary... my week in review

It has been an interesting week.... A busy week. First, let me say that I recorded my first "dear diary" tonight and for some reason the video was completely black, though my voice was recorded. Ugh... That was totally frustrating and a major bust.... Dang it.

Wednesday was my eldest son's 7th birthday... Though we didn't have a party, we had a nice family dinner which we all enjoyed.

Today, I attempted to walk just under a mile up to my son's school to pick him up after his day. With the changes in my eating habits and trying to be healthy... I thought I could carry one of the twins in the ergo carrier and the other one in the stroller and walk up to the school in an area where I had to basically walk completely up hill. I couldn't make it. As if it wasn't bad enough that my muscles were burning like crazy.... My asthma kicked in and I couldn't breathe. I had to turn around and walk back down to my house and load up in the car because continuing to walk to the school would have been very dangerous for me and my asthma. And, if anything would happen to me, my babies would be in huge danger.

This week is one of those that started off on a positive note... And considering I had some major challenges... I still feel that it will end in an awesome way.

Wishing all of you an awesome end to your week and a great week next week.

Xoxo,
Honeygirl

Happy birthday to my son Ka'eo

Seven years ago, on this very day... My husband and I was blessed with our eldest son, Kevin Ka'eo'okamalei'okahonuakamakaniamekekai Kaho'ohanohano. Thus was a very joyous occasion for my husband and I had tried for many years to get pregnant... And when we decided to stop trying... We found out we were expecting.  While I was in labor (2 weeks overdue and had to be induced.  12 hours of labor and pain killers that NEVER worked), we decided we would call him Ka'eo for short.

The last few years have been such a joy. As most parents know... Whether it is your first time or your fifth... It is always a learning experience. Each year on this day I remember leaving him with my parents when he was a month old so I could go back to work. Needless to say, it was a very traumatic experience for me and I cried continuously for the remainder of the day.  Then, having to rush him to the emergency room because he fell down in the kitchen and split his chin open...  I had to be brave mommy & not show any emotion as we waiting for hours in the ER for his chin to get 12 stitches.

Each minute, each day, each year... there are memories that are cherished... Watching Ka'eo get excited in 2009 as my tummy grew bigger & bigger with his twin brothers... and how he continued to talk to my belly every day. And how he held each one in his arms when he visited me and his brothers in the hospital.  Now, more than a year later... he is the best big brother any little brother could ask for. :)

As I mentioned earlier...  my husband and I are definitely blessed.  Though boys will be boys and all 3 of my sons can drive me crazy once in a great while... I would never trade being their mommy for anything in the world.

So - in closing... I want to wish my darling son Ka'eo a Happy Happy Birthday.  Daddy & I wish you a lifetime of blessings and happiness and our love for you is FOREVER.  Hau'oli La Hanau e' Ka'eo.

My Birthday dinner dining experience...

This is totally not related to food... but it's been bugging me for a few days - so I figure I blog about it and get it off my mind.

So - Friday (January 14th) was my birthday - and my fabulous, sexy husband took me & the kiddos out for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.  It had been over a year since the last time we had gone... and I was so excited.  Not only was a going to get some delicious prime rib - but I could also have my escargot  and my calamari strips... I was totally stoked & so excited. :)

Reservations were made and we headed to the restaurant.  Now, this restaurant surely cannot hold more than 100 people comfortably... and it was a pretty average night in my opinion... not too busy - just right.

Well, the food was pretty awesome, as it usually did... and needless to say - I cleaned my entire plate, including appetizers and definitely put a dent in my cheat day.  My stomach was quite happy.  This part of my foodie experience, was definitely not what my complaint is.

The service was at its absolute worst.  Our reservations were set for 7pm and we didn't order till almost 8pm.  First, the waitress stopped by our table to ask if we cared for anything to drink... when I asked her if they had cups that were disposable and not glass with straws in them for the twins... she said she would be right back to check and that wasn't for over 20 mins.  She came back to take our order and I asked her if we could please order our drinks too... and she said yes, but disappeared again.  She stopped at all of the other tables until she came back and not to mention... my husband received his drink after he had finished his dinner and we were getting our desserts.  My husband had to tell the waitress he had not received it yet.  Then - all parents know that  their children never finish their dinners... and the twins definitely did not - their plates were full.  We asked for a take out box, she took the food... said she would box it for us and it never did arrive.  We paid our bill, left our tip and because we were so busy with the babies... we forgot about it.  But, I must say that from the time she took the food to box up till the time we left... it was more than 25 mins.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for some delicious prime rib and awesome food... but this time, the service was regrettable.... and definitely frustrated me tremendously.
