The Launch of Eye Candy - a part of I-Candy Couture.

I know I have completely been failing in the blog department lately... trust me, I am very disappointed in myself. ;)  It's been so busy for me lately... with Holidays upon us - I have been busy with new Jewelry and Accessory Items on I-Candy Couture and just launched the new Eye Candy Section of I-Candy Couture.  I am so excited... I am making all of my passions come true.  Now - not only can you find Accessories for your every day fashions on my site... you can also find Mineral Eyeshadow Pigments formulated and created by me. ;) I'm so excited.

Yesterday, I launched the Winter Wonderland Sweets Collection - a collection of 6 eyeshadow pigments that are named after my favorite holiday sweet treats.  The goal for this collection was to create colors that are perfect for Winter and that are most coveted over during these chilly months.  I wanted to include darker colors that were still very wearable any day - but also can be intensified if worn wet or with a base that will make them pop.

This is going to be a FOTD post too - lol... today I am wearing 3 of my pigments and decided I wanted to have colors that would make my eyes pop... but not be too bold that I would stop traffic.  That is the beautiful thing about pigments... use them dry for soft hues and shades or wet for a dramatic look.

Here's what I'm using:

Primer - Two Faced Shadow Insurance
Base - NYX Shadow Base in Skin tone
Eyeshadows:  Sugar Plum and Caramel Apple by I-Candy Couture.
Eyeliner - Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero
Mascara - Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara
Lips - NYX Matte Lipstick in Tea Rose & 24K Pink Lip Gloss
by I-Candy Couture (not yet available on the site)

Hope you all love the new products that are coming out and the FOTD ;)
I can't wait to show you what other products we have in store. ;)

E.L.F. had a sale, I took advantage of it. :)

So - I have NEVER ordered from Eyeslipsface.com online before... because shipping to Hawaii is so terribly expensive... but it is difficult to get any ELF products here on Maui, because we don't carry them all the time here - with exception to Walgreens and Ross (on occasion).  I was referred by one of my Youtube Friends and told that E.L.F. was having a 50% off sale... for all orders up to $15.00.  Now, this was awesome... because I was able to get all of the available quads that E.L.F. had to offer... and I got to pick up a 100 eyeshadow palette for $10 instead of $20.

Here is my haul from E.L.F. - let me know if you want swatches. :)

Disclaimer:  All products shown were purchased by me with my own money.  I was not compensated or paid in any way by the company/brands to do this post.

November 2010 - Favorite Products

November 2010 - Favs

I am so... late with posting last month's (November) Favorite products.  It has been such a busy month - I didn't even realize it came & went so quickly.  This months favs are simple, affordable & should be fairly easy to find in stores.  I have listed the products below and have also included pictures for you to see.  If you would like to watch the video - the embedded link is at the bottom of the post. ;)  Please note:  The items listed below are in no particular order and may not match the videos order.

1.)  Revlon's Grow Luscious Mascara by Fabulash - I purchased this from my local CVS store for $8.99.  I absolutely heart this product.  It has been a daily user because it not only provides length and volume to my lashes... I am actually seeing a little bit of growth to my lashes (as the product claims it should do).  I most definitely notice that my lashes are healthier than it was before.  The wand is what makes me love this mascara so much - it is awesome... though big and bulky - it gets the job done. ;) You can also see my review for more information on this product.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0kCFBopS-I

2.)  NYX Candy Glitter Liner in French Champagne - I purchased this from my local CVS store.  It is normally $4.29 - but it was on sale at 25% off of its normal price.  I love this liner.  I didn't experience any trouble with it hurting my eyes and used it for over 8 hours.  It has great staying power (I even took a nap) and it is such a great way to glam up a look. ;)

3.)  NYX Single Shadow in Golden Bronze - I purchased this from my local CVS store.  It is normally $3.99 - but it was on sale at f25% off of its normal price.  This color is quite possibly one of my favorite colors out there.  I would not really call it a "bronze" anything - it has a very true gold color... and I LOVE IT.  I now go to this color for my everyday look as it is wearable during the day as an all over lid color.  I can easily glam up this look and add drama too it for a night time look by adding a dark brown or black eyeshadow and applying it to the crease to turn the look into a beautiful sultry smokey eye.  I have used NYX products many times in the past - but I am really starting to build my collection of these products because I absolutely love them.  Those of you that cannot afford MAC or just can't buy MAC products - try out NYX, I know you will love it too. ;)

4.)  China Glaze Nail Lacquer with Hardeners in VIII - I purchased this product from my local beauty supply store for about $8.00.  I have been a fan of China Glaze polishes for a long time and especially love their products because they have great staying power and a range of awesome colors.  China Glaze is known for their lacquers containing China Clay as a nail hardener - the same material that gives porcelain its shiny finish.  All of their polishes/colors are free of DBP, Toulene and Formaldehyde.  This is a big deal, especially when you are looking for optimum nail growth, strength and beautifulness. ;)  I chose this beautiful color (a very rich royal purple) because dark purples are the trend for this fall/winter season and this color goes well with any skin tone.  It applies evenly and the color does not need many coats.

5.)  Nubar Nail Lacquer in Purple Glitter - I purchased this product from my local beauty supply store for about $6.50.  I love Nubar products ever since I was sent their Valentine's Day Gift Set by Nubar last year.  Just like China Glaze, their products are Formaldehyde, Phthalate and Toluene Free and the color payoff and staying power is awesome.  I love the sleek design of it's bottle/packaging and this color goes really well with the China Glaze VIII polish.  Not to mention - it is purple glitter and we all know how I love purple & glitter... total bonus!

6.)  Revlon's Nail Enamel in Star - I purchased this product from my local CVS store for about $5.00.  It automatically caught my eyes because of the purple & glitter and I couldn't resist.  After applying it... I fell in love because the different sizes of glitter (big & small) allow for even coverage and a blinged out nail.  One downfall, the packaging states that it is a Top Coat... though - if you do not put a clear top coat on top of it... it will chip fairly easily... so be sure to put a top coat on top.  This can be used on top of any nail color - looks great with the China Glaze polish VIII.

These were my favs for the month of November. ;)  Stay tuned for more favorites coming your way next month.

Day 14 - Blog Challenge, What is in your makeup bag?

What isn't in your makeup bag would be a more appropriate question.  Right now, my makeup bag that I take with me is pretty sparse because I just changed my purse...  so I threw my MAC blot powder & carmex lip conditioner in my purse pocket and called it a day...  but normally - here is what you can find in my makeup bag.

  • MAC Blot Powder
  • MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation (I use this for touch ups only if I really need it - but other than that... I don't usually reapply my foundation and just use the blot powder)
  • MAC Select Moisture Cover Concealer (for spot treating any areas on the go)
  • Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm with Vitamin E + Aloe & SPF 15 (this is a mandatory and I will always have it in my bag no matter what.  I have dry lips and this is great to keep it moisturized and protected.)
  • Loreal Infallible Never Fail Lip Gloss in a Nude color...  right now you can find it in Coral Sands in my purse.
  • A Basic Mascara - I am currently really liking Revlon's Grow Luscious Mascara because it has yet to clump my lashes (LOVE THIS STUFF, formal review coming soon.)
  • A Lipstick Tube - usually one of my Nude colors from Avon.
  • A MAC Lipglass - usually Viva Glam VI
  • A Eyeliner pencil - usually one of Avon's Glimmersticks Pencil in Blackest Black or Blackest Night (waterproof)
  • Tweezers (I use this mainly when I am sitting in the car waiting for someone... I tweeze my strays :-D)
  • Bobby pins (never know when you need these)
  • Twist tie or rubberband
  • makeup remover (or sometimes I take this out and just use the baby wipes I always have on hand)
  • back up earrings - incase I forget to put mine on before I leave the house.
  • A Multipurpose palette - this palette usually consists of 3-5 colors (eyeshadows or both eyeshadow & blush).  I select to use my palettes that will allow me to do a quick makeup look - like a brown smokey eye and I'll have an extra green shade or blue shade in there.  Something that is multipurpose.  Often times you will find my small MAC quads or MAC holiday collection palettes in my purse.
That is pretty much it - the list is long but it fits all in my Hello Kitty Makeup bag and I stick it in my purse.   Ready to go when ever I need it. ;-)

Coastal Scents rolls out Color Specific Eyeshadow Quads

I just love opening my emails and receiving newsletters from Cosmetic Companies about a product launch. How excited can a girl get??? REALLY EXCITED.

Coastal Scents' newsletter stated that they "have Natural Quads for the perfect daytime look and Vibrant Quads for an exciting bold look. Each quad comes with a pro black matte case, with mirror and dual applicator sponge want along with four pre-selected HOT POTS. Whether you have brown, green, hazel or blue eyes, the new Color Specific Eyeshadow Quads are for you!"

After viewing the newsletter and the photos they have included, I am really excited to get my hands on a few of these quads. Though they are color specific to your eyes - they are perfect neutral and/or vibrant colors that you could use any day.
