Smile for the Day!

Besides my husband... my children are my biggest inspirations.  Each day - I watch them grow and flourish into little people... with a mind all their own.

I wanted to share this with all of you because I thought is was so precious.  Once a week - I receive and email from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as I have been a huge supporter of this Organization and have volunteered in the past to help raise money towards their need.  This morning, I received my weekly email... and here is what is said.

Have you ever considered asking the tooth fairy for a donation? That's exactly what Audrey Liles did while participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's School & Youth Program - Pennies for Patients.
When I heard about this, it reminded me just how powerful children can be. I'm enclosing the note sent to us from Jennifer Liles, Audrey's mom.

This is the 2nd year my daughter has participated in "Pennies for Patients" at her elementary school, Piney Point Elementary School, Tall Timbers, MD. Today she brought home the information and emptied her piggy bank to fill up the box for the LLS program. My daughter just turned seven and is in the 1st grade.

After dinner she asked me for a blank piece of paper to write a letter to the tooth fairy and asked me not to look. When she got done this is what she had written:

(I have not edited grammar or spelling)

Dear tooth fairy we are having a thing at school called Make change beat cancer. We have to send money to the school and donate to other people that don't have the money to buy the medicine for there sick kids. So I was thinking you could come to my house tonight and leave me money so I can bring it to school. Love, Audrey Liles

This made my heart melt and I really felt the need to share it with you. Thank you, Jennifer Liles (Audrey's Mom)

We're always amazed at the impact children are making on the lives of patients with cancer. This year alone, more than 15 million students raised $26 million through our School & Youth Programs to help beat cancer. We are grateful for people like Audrey, her mom Jennifer, and for all tooth fairies.
Your support makes a difference.

We often forget that our children are so innocent - that unlike a lot of us... they instantly think with their hearts before their minds.  My children remind me of this each and every day... especially my 7 year old Ka'eo (Kevin), whose selfless efforts are always in full swing... as he takes his hard earned money out of his wallet to give for something or someone in need.

If our World thought like a child, just once a day... I honestly think it would be a better place.  Take the time to think like your children today... and give from your heart. :)  I hope you liked this article as much as I did.  God bless all of you and wishing you an awesome day. :)

A Lil' Monday Inspiration...

"Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it."
- Confucius

I had a bunch of errands to run today... nothing big - just a trip to the post office and grocery market.  I was quite lucky because my in-laws offered to watch the twins... so that I didn't have to take 2 nineteen month olds out of the car and into the strollers twice...  and it surely made for an easier time while I was out.

I normally don't think of much while out running errands, because my mind is usually preoccupied with the kiddos... either they are really active, mad or just talking up a storm... so I normally have my mind focused on them.  It was nice to be out and about and have my thoughts to myself this morning.  I actually took a second to "Stop and smell the roses" so to say.  I really haven't had the opportunity this season to take a minute and look at what Spring has brought us... sunshine, green grass, an array of scents from florals to greenery and wonderful creatures like birds and butterflies.  Though I only took a few seconds... the blue skies, birds chirping, fragrances and the beautiful jacaranda trees certainly helped to make this a beautiful day.

Since I know I will not be posting much over the next week and a half with my trip... I wanted to leave everyone with a little inspiration.  Take time to stop and look at all the beauty around you... whether it be a dinosaur shaped cloud, breathtaking blooming Purple Jacarandas or a child's laughter... and soak it all up.  Love and enjoy your life and what it has to offer.  Feeling like you can't see beauty in the World today, try closing your eyes... and hearing it instead.  Beauty is all around us and in Everything! :)

Happy Monday to all of you.

Inspirational Sunday - The Power of Words

Each Sunday I will try to post inspirational videos, quotes, books, etc. that I have enjoyed... that have made me tear up or that have just guided me through my days.  I hope to make this a weekly habit... and hope to share my lives inspirations with all of you.

Often - we forget how important the Power of Words are... and how they will impact those around us.  Not only do they effect us in a positive way or benefit us to some extent... words can completely hurt, harm or discourage others around us... whether it was meant to be or not.  I am a firm believer that Words hold powerful meaning and can make or break a person.  So - before you speak, before you utter a single word, whether positive or negative... stop and think about what it is you are saying and how it is perceived.  Once it is spoken or written... often times you cannot take it back.

The video below is one that inspires me tremendously.  Many people do not jump so eagerly to those that that are hard on luck, whether because they are that way by choice or not...  but by just opening one person's eyes... all options are endless.

Happy Sunday to all and I wish you all a day filled with INSPIRATION!
God bless you all.

Blog Challenge - Day 12, Who/What is your inspiration & why?

If you have been following me for a while - you all know that I talk and blog constantly about my husband.  He is my biggest inspiration and my biggest supporter in life.  Honestly, I think that all spouses should be held up to that degree... because they should be your biggest supports, your biggest fans and your #1 inspiration.

When ever I need my husband, either spiritually, emotionally or physically - he is there, no matter what.  He never judges or makes me feel inferior.  Many will tell me, "Isn't that how a spouse should be automatically?"  Well, yes - this is true... but more often than not - this is not the case at all.

I am very lucky to have a wonderful man in my life and don't know what I would do without him.  He inspires me each day to be an awesome human being and he makes me want to be a better woman, wife & mother.  I love you babe, my darling Kevin. ;-)

xoxo ~ Honey
